SHORT DESCRIPTION

 The Trade Institute in Tchangerey is an institution that aims to train the next generation of trade workers in Niger’s capital, Niamey. The country has a youthful population and the institute is geared towards training and building skills for young people to be empowered towards entrepreneurship or work in other sectors. The institute will train them in culinary arts, hospitality, sewing skills, among others. 

  • The design of the Institute provides multiple spaces for students to come together across disciplines through communal spaces and a variety of indoor / outdoor spaces. The series of courtyards help with cross ventilation and cooling, while the spaces also double as informal teaching spaces offering students and teachers different ways to interact with each other.
