Mariam Issoufou is awarded the Azul Zero 2025 Award in Sustainable Architecture 💫

The Azul Zero Awards are given to individuals and organizations for their work in environmental sustainability. At the ceremony held in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Lanzarote, the jury acknowledged Mariam's work for its "extraordinary contribution to contemporary architecture" and her "ability to transform, through respect for tradition and the use of local materials, the lives of entire communities. Your work is a powerful example of how architecture can be at once sustainable, social, and profoundly human."

In her acceptance speech Mariam thanked our teams in Niamey, New York and Zurich for their hard work and used the opportunity to note that the climate crisis presents an opportunity for all of to take better care of our environment and each other.
